Outside of the visual glitches in OOT (which still don't really bother me that much tbh, but hopefully will be patched), I think this is a great option for playing N64 games on a modern platform, personally. Like, they should absolutely offer per game button mapping (and black borders while we're at it, lol), but the default scheme on NSO is better than any of the awkward custom schemes I could come up with on Wii U. I also don't think the default button mapping is bad at all, and holding ZR to use face buttons as C buttons is way better than just using them on the right stick. Not sure if they adjusted sensitivity/deadzones or what, but stuff like aiming in OOT feels noticeably better on Switch than on Wii U, Imo. The games look great here with higher resolution and no dark filter (which ruined Wii U VC for me, but was also present on Wii VC to a degree), and while input latency seems similar between the emulators (and has never really bothered me much, tbh), I genuinely think it feels better to play the games on Switch.

If you're like me, and haven't touched actual N64 hardware in decades, and your only recent experiences with N64 games has been playing them using Wii U Virtual Console, then I think there is a lot to like about the NSO experience. on PC at high resolution and with less latency and visual bugs than the NSO app, they'd probably be disappointed with what is on offer here. If someone is used to playing N64 games on actual hardware hooked to a CRT, or playing these games on RetroArch, etc. Click to shrink.I think it really just depends on your experience with OG hardware and other non-Nintendo emulators.
